The Historical Society’s second Oak Glen tour is taking place on
Saturday, October 25, 2003. This outing includes a tour bus and a
guided tour of Riley’s Farm.

Our bus ride will include a wonderful old movie mystery in the tradition of Alfred
Hitchcok, which was shot in Lake Arrowhead. The movie is called “One of My
Wives is Missing”, Starring Jack Klugman, James Franciscus and Elizabeth
Ashley.

At Riley’s Farm, Colonial America comes alive. This living history farm has re-
enactments that take place daily and involves experiences that range from
weaving, candle-dipping and cider pressing. Whether you are grinding flour,
observing a period blacksmith at a waterwheel driven hammer mill, or being
taught the manual of arms by Civil or Revolutionary War soldiers, you and your
family, and friends will have the chance to see the sights and hear the sounds
of history in the re-making!
Riley’s Farm has appeared on the History Channel and in the film, Amistad.
As well as preserving history, the farm has numerous crops that range from
sweet corn, apples, raspberries, pears, and sunflowers.
