Wagon Wheel Awards
Our annual holiday installation and awards dinner was a big success. This was the first year that we included an awards ceremony and I was proud to present the Wagon Wheel Award to
Pat and Joann Welsh for their support in hosting our fund raiser at the Royal Oak last June. Pat and Joann will host another benefit evening this year. So watch for the announcement.
Vice President Roger Hatheway presented the second Wagon Wheel Award to Doug Schlemmer who each year hosts our Holiday dinner. Doug also entered his classic 1914 Studebaker in the Blue Jay Christmas parade for the historical society.

We thought we were going to have a museum in Running Springs but unfortunately the Grant money they were to receive did not allow for a museum. I would however like to thank Bruce Daniels and the Running Springs Chamber of Commerce for their efforts in trying to bring it about. We are currently negotiating with Mr. Thomas Plott and his daughter Sarah Key Plott, Project Manager, for a museum site in Santa's Village. Mr. Plott has generously offered a portion of the front building to house the museum so we will have great visibility to the public. We intend to have a major exhibit featuring the Henck family and the old Santa's Village, I hope that some of you reading this will want to serve as docents once the museum is open.
As most of you know, Pauleina's book Saga of the San Bernardinos is being republished by the Big Bear Historical Society. Her agreement with the publisher is that part of the proceeds from the sale of the book will go to the Rim of the World Historical Society.
