Dillin's Store

Now Harrington's Realty, originally constructed around the turn of (last) century as a warehouse for building materials for the dam at Little Bear Lake (Lake Arrowhead). Once, the location of the post office, tavern, general store and restaurant.

Interior of the original
Club San Moritz

This interior view is from the original Club San Moritz in Valley of the Moon. The club was dedicated in 1939 and was located across from the Crestline Inn. The original 'lodge' was built in the mid 1920's and was known as 'The Arrowhead Valley Club'.

Mt. Anderson and Bridge

Depicted here is the original intersection of Highway 18 and 138. John Anderson Jr. was a prominent mountain resident following the turn of the last century. He was fire fighter, land investor and tourism promoter for our mountains.

New Mormon Trail Dedication

In 1852 the Mormons, that had just recently purchased what is now the city of San Bernardino, built a road into the west end of the San Bernardino mountains to facilitate their need for lumber. On June 22, 1940 this dedication of that accomplishment took place in Crestline.

The Skyland Gates

Depicted here are the once historic gates at the intersection of Skyland Drive and Crest Forest Drive - announcing the entrance to the Skyland land sub-division and Crestline Bowl.

Beating the Snow

Residents of Cedarpines Park and Sawpit Canyon, found a way to get 'out' during the heavy snows of the 1940's and 1950's. In those 'good-ole-days' it could have taken one or two weeks before the County had the roads cleared.

Building of the new Club San Moritz

Depicted here is the construction of the 'new' Club San Moritz on the shores of Lake Gregory. Construction began in the early 1950's following the destruction, by fire, of the original 'club' in Valley of the Moon. This building currently is managed by "Parks and Recreation".

Joe's Place - Cedarpines Park

This building - later known as the Hayloft, now a private residence - was built in the late 1920's by the Bertucci family. Once a restaurant, bar, dance hall and service station.

Lake Gregory

This image depicts the old 'Pedalo' boats on Lake Gregory. A more modern version is available today. The lake, and surrounding area, continue to be a marvelous attraction to the community and our many mountain visitors.

Club San Moritz Construction sign

This sign, once located at the original club site in the Valley of the Moon, announces the proposed construction of the new club on the shores of Lake Gregory.

Top Town - Crestline

Looking south along Crest Forest Drive towards the intersection of Highway 138. Note Suverkrup Lumber (see Cedar Glen), and the infamous Crash Inn in the background.
